Rockin' Ribfest, Yankton

By request, here is Yankton's "Rockin' Ribfest," held in September each year. I have to admit that I'm not a huge rib eater, so this kind of festival doesn't appeal to me as much as others. The estimated 5,000 people at this year's Ribfest seemed to be having a good time, though.

With ribs, beer, bands and inflatable toys for the kids, I can see why.

It all makes for fun photos, especially if you look for the offbeat ones.

Several bands played throughout the day and evening. Here are "Dakota Musical" and "Snakebeard Jackson." When was the last time you saw a band with a washboard player? I think it was probably Boxcar Willie's band for me, back in about '85 at the Corn Palace and I could be wrong about that.

Chad, just checked back in. Glad to see these up. Our official numbers are hovering around 10,000 for this year's event. Thanks for shooting photos.
