Working my best with the conditions, here are a couple shots from Palisades that don't let you see what the sky was doing.

Palisades State Park is just outside of Garretson and I will give a more complete description of the park in my next post.
Here's that half hour of sunshine at Big Sioux Rec Area, which is on the southwest edge of Brandon, directly east of Sioux Falls on I-90.

Another thought occured to me as I was looking for good shots amidst the mist. Any place that is designated as a "park" is probably that for a reason. Which means there is likely something fun to shoot there, even if the weather isn't perfect. So I present to you Lake Herman State Park just west of Madison. It's not one of South Dakota's most well-known state parks, but along with a large lake, a historic cabin, and great camping, Lake Herman has some beautiful fall colors this time of year. Ignoring the dreary skies, I came up with this.

These photos are great. I live in Brandon. Should have known you were going to be in the area. I would have taken you out to lunch.
Well now, I won't miss that offer next time I'm in the area!
Sounds good! Have a nice weekend with the hunter! :-)
