Things you find this time of year

I've been out and about around the state a lot this spring and have come across quite a few fun photo opportunities with wildlife. Here are some of them.

Baby robins begging for a meal at Falls Park in Sioux Falls.

An almost perfectly camouflaged bobcat resting in Badlands National Park.

A gigantic silk moth outside my office in Pierre.

A whitetail fawn also outside my office. He is literally curled up right next to the building. Mother and fawn kept the employees of South Dakota Tourism and State Development entertained for most of a day this week.

Fox snakes mating at Palisades State Park near Garretson. While creepy, it was also fascinating to watch them roll and writhe while paying no attention to many park visitors walking by.
