Flintstones is vintage fun

Another of the many vintage roadside attractions in South Dakota is Flintstones Bedrock City in Custer. Lots of bright colors, fun statues and enjoyable details make it a great spot for photography.

Even if you aren't familiar with the classic Flintstones cartoons, the whimsical architecture and costumed characters are fun to shoot.

Flintstones is easy to find on the western edge of Custer, right on Main Street/Mount Rushmore Road. For more information, check out www.flintstonesbedrockcity.com.

These are great! You should do the photos for a brochure for them! {Maybe you already have.} But these are the best photos of Flintstones that I've ever seen. So, can you tell me how you have the "rounded" effect with Fred & Barney?

I'm a hobby photographer, with a little Canon PowerShot camera, but I share a passion for taking pictures that show the beauty and delight of South Dakota.

You can visit my blog Opened Door at www.jodeneshaw.blogspot.com. The "South Daktoa" themed posts are listed in the archives.

I enjoy visiting your blog!
Thanks,

Thanks Jodi. The rounded pictures were taken with a 12mm lens very close to the subjects, which gives it that look. The lens is also typically used for wide landscapes, but when it is very close to something the lines start to bend.

You've got some great photos on your blog. Love the flowers and the light on the hayfields, etc.

Fun stuff! Chad
