Join the Worldwide Photo Walk, Saturday July 24

This year's Worldwide Photo Walk hosted by Scott Kelby will be Saturday, July 24 and I will be leading one portion of it at the South Dakota Capitol complex in Pierre.

If you aren't familiar with the Worldwide Photo Walk, it is the largest global social event for photographers in the history of photography. Last year over 900 walks took place and over 32,000 people participated. Organizers are expecting even more this year.

There is no fee to be part of the Worldwide Photo Walk, but pre-registration is required at http://worldwidephotowalk.com/.

So far there are two walks scheduled in South Dakota this year - Pierre and Sioux Falls. Check the website above to sign up for one or to create and lead your own.

The Pierre Photo Walk will begin at 8 am on Saturday, July 24 at the Capitol building front steps. We will wander the Capitol grounds, Capitol Lake, the various memorials around the lake, and Hilger's Gulch area northeast of the Capitol. At 10 am we will gather in the Capitol rotunda to share photos and stories from the morning.

Photographic experience and camera gear does not matter. Even if all you shoot pictures with is your cell phone, you are welcome. Spending a fun couple hours with fellow photographers is what it's all about. At the end of the day, photos can be uploaded to the Worldwide Photo Walk website for a chance to win cool prizes.
