For many small South Dakota towns, the July 4 weekend means rodeo. In Miller, between Huron and Pierre on Highway 14, it means motorsports of several kinds.
Miller Speedway races and the American Legion Demolition Derby highlighted a full weekend of activities that also included go-kart racing, a parade and fireworks.

"Rammin Robb" Johnson of Watertown signals to a competitor his displeasure during the demo derby.

For more information on the festivities, check the
City of Miller website. Miller Speedway has a full schedule of racing through the rest of the summer, check out
their website as well.

Very Cool! My Uncle Willie recently retired from racing in Miller. He raced the number 33...remember going to races and watching fireworks in Miller when I was a little girl.
Thanks for the tips on the "curved" photos from the Flintstones, visiting my blog and adding me to your list of SD Photographers!!
Your blog is a great resource!
Thanks,
Jodi Shaw
Cool photos, the sunset shot is my favorite, the dust rolling out from under the car catches the color...NICE!
Thanks!
Dave, I was hoping for even more dust when I chose that angle, but this worked pretty well.
