Nostalgia in the Boondocks

For pure 1950s nostalgia in the Black Hills, you need to head to the Boondocks. This roadside attraction/diner/gift shop/50s theme park offers a great vintage feel for photographers.

Boondocks is nine miles south of Deadwood on Highway 385 and very easy to find. Just look for the big Ferris Wheel and antique cars.

Working the angles and finding closeups of interesting textures is fun.

It's also a great place to play with different techniques like super-saturated colors and high contrast.

More information on Boondocks can be found at their official website.

Great Shots, my favorite is the very last one of the set, it really has a nice dreamy retro look! Cool!

Thanks Dave. I hadn't planned on that, but when I had the picture in Photoshop I cranked the saturation way up and liked it. That's my favorite of the bunch, too.
