Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade will feature South Dakota

Okay, I'll admit this has nothing to do with my photography or yours unless you happen to be photographing the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City in the next three years. However, it's a pretty big deal that South Dakota is sponsoring a brand new float in the annual parade.

I'd like to think Macy's used several of my photographs in creating the float, but honestly I have no idea.

If you're not lucky enough to be in New York to see the float in person, you can catch the parade on NBC television from 9 am to noon in your local area. Don't bother converting the time zone for your location, it's the same everywhere. The Mount Rushmore float should appear sometime between 10:15 and 10:30 am and be carrying some special musical guests.

If for some reason you miss it this year, the float will be appearing in the parade for at least three years thanks to several South Dakota tourism-related organizations. You can check out the Black Hills Travel Blog for more details.
