Looking for new angles in Deadwood
Sometimes you have to try hard to come up with unique images of a place you are very familiar with. I've shot photos in the legendary town of Deadwood so often that when I come up with a new angle it makes me really happy. Here's one I found by shooting street reflections in the glass of the Franklin Hotel's corner door blending with the slot machines seen through the glass.
As a footnote, I have a connection with these doors. Back in the late 1980s before gaming took over much of Historic Main Street, I worked for a small newspaper chain that had an office in this corner of the Franklin. At one time I had a key to these very doors.
