Mirrorless at Disney World

Despite the advice that I give people about not purchasing a new camera immediately before going on a big vacation trip, that's exactly what I did this month. I had my Olympus Pen E-P3 not quite a week when I found myself at Walt Disney World in Florida.

Even though I fumbled through some of the controls and kind of gave up on taking professional quality photos, I was generally happy with the results. These are my favorite shots from the trip.

The Pen E-P3 is one of the new generation of mirrorless cameras, also known as Electronic Viewfinder Interchangeable Lens cameras or EVIL. There's no truth to the rumor that I bought one just for the acronym.

It is fun to have all the controls of a large SLR in such a small package. I know the camera is more capable than the operator with not enough practice was during this test.

If you'd like to see more photos and video I shot with the little Olympus, check out my video at YouTube.

Thanks! No Aerosmith roller coasters for me or Tower of Terror. I'm a pretty tame ride guy.
