You'd have to look far and wide to find a place as genuinely interesting as Duf's Amoco/Information Center/Flea Market/Museum in Geddes, South Dakota.
Town historian and promoter Ron Dufek can almost always be found at the former service station on Main Street. It's obviously been a long, long time since gas was pumped at this vintage building, but nostalgia is in full swing.
For a photographer the place is a treasure trove of texture. You can't decide what to shoot first, what to leave in the frame, what to leave out. At first I was just planning to shoot a few quick snapshots, but the more I look at these photos the more I realize I'll be back here again capturing Ron's can collection, antique auto parts and hand-lettered signs.

I wonder how you happened upon Duf's Chad... I hope you visited Old Pap's Cabin and the other treasures in Geddes while there.
Your suspicions are probably correct Heidi - it had something to do with a geocache. Yes, I toured Old Pap's Cabin and everything else in the park. :)
