Thank you Mother Nature!

As tonight's opening photo session of the South Dakota Camera Club Roundup got underway at the 1880 Town, the skies didn't look promising. A wall of darkness was moving in from the west. However, as the prairie thunderstorm actually reached our location, a huge rotating "mothership" of a cloud produced lots of lightning and some great imagery before opening up with rain that sent us all scurrying for cover.

It was a great opportunity to shoot a classic western town with ominous skies. If I was paying attention correctly, we had the Huron, Sioux Falls and Black Hills clubs represented. Fun stuff! Hoping for more in the morning.
