60th Cheyenne River Sioux Pow Wow coming up

For the 60th year, the sights and sounds of a traditional Lakota wacipi will fill the dancing arena at the Cheyenne River Sioux Pow Wow in Eagle Butte, South Dakota on Labor Day weekend, Sept. 1-2.

For photographers, the swirling colors and incredibly-detailed regalia make a pow wow an exercise in restraint from shooting too many photos. But then there's not really such a thing as too many photos, is there?

For a cool video version of the pow wow, check out Scott Howard's work at YouTube.
