I was "framed"

A discussion the other day on Facebook where fellow photographer Andy Ogan had to explain something about my style of photography lead to some self-realization.

What Andy had recognized and I had not was that I tend to use the photographic technique of "framing" quite often. Mostly with tree branches, but also with flowers, rooftops and other subjects, I do have "frames" around many of my shots.

It might be at Sylvan Lake in Custer State Park...

or the Dakota Discovery Museum in Mitchell...

or the 1880 Train in Hill City....

or the capitol in Pierre...

the Missouri River near Bonesteel....

Palisades State Park at Garretson...

or Lake Alvin east of Harrisburg...

Prairie Village at Madison...

or even with "Mama" the dinosaur at the South Dakota Children's Museum in Brookings.

Thanks Bob. Yeah, I think Andy's okay for paying attention to my work.
