Successful eagle walk

A good crowd showed up for this morning's 12th annual Eagles and Bagels event at Oahe Downstream Recreation Area near Fort Pierre.

Park Superintendent Pat Buscher gave an informative and educational presentation on eagles, their habitat and respectful ways to view them.

Despite chilly temperatures, roughly 30 people walked through the park area as Buscher pointed out likely places to view eagles roosting in trees.

I followed Pat's advice about not disturbing the birds and found at least 21 sitting in one area by staying in my vehicle and photographing out the window.
